The truth is, I do not like change. I find my comfort level in sameness.
Let me be at home with all my things in their places, and you’ll find me content and at peace. Until something (or someone) rocks the boat or disrupts the schedule.
Earlier this year, I began to research alternatives for maintaining a Subscriber list and sending out new blog posts. Last month, I made the decision to navigate to the Substack platform. Though there are several reasons why, here are my top two.
1.    $$$ - Yes, it costs to keep a quality website up and running. As I move closer to my retirement years, I knew I needed to begin reducing these costs.
2.    Time – Over the past couple of years, the Lord has dealt with me about time management. I’ve had to acknowledge my tendency to spend a lot of time doing ‘all the things’ that go along with blogging and writing, except the most important thing…the actual writing! This move will help me focus better on the main thing.
What this means for Subscribers?
If you are an existing Subscriber of WHILE I PONDER, your email address has already been transferred to my Subscribers list on Substack. New posts (beginning with the one you’re reading now) will continue coming to your inbox. These new emails may look a little different, but I love the clean, fresh look of Substack, and I think you will, too.
To new Subscribers that have recently joined us here, welcome!
What happens next?
Going forward, I’ll continue to share new posts with you here. Over the past few years, I’ve done this in two primary ways »1) by sharing new blog posts on the website, and »2) by writing words directly to Subscribers via the email newsletter. As I begin writing on Substack, these two will merge into one.
I am retiring the End-of-Month Wrap-Up, which I feel has run its course. Down the road, I may announce a private Substack publication with additional content. If I do, you’ll be the first to know!
What about whileiponder.com?
The whileiponder.com website has been discontinued. Many blog posts from there made the move to this platform. The Blog now lives here on Substack at www.karlenearthur.com.
Remember, existing subscribers (from whileiponder.com) are already signed up to receive future posts and updates. You do not need to re-subscribe.
