It is an honor to share words written by someone close to me. My daughter, Eve Tipton, recently posted the following on her social media accounts. I asked her permission to re-post her words here.
What a blessing it is to see your children grow up and remain faithful to the Lord. Eve, thank you for sharing your gift with this community.
For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God… Deuteronomy 10.17 (ESV)
I’ve sat with His word all morning, in between cleaning up toys and spit up. Somehow, I kept coming back to Him. In praise and thanksgiving, for His mercy and provision. The very keeper of my heart.
He is so worthy. So, so worthy.
In Deuteronomy, today, I was reminded of His goodness, leading His chosen ones to the promised land, despite their lack of remembrance. He brought them out of slavery and led them through their wilderness for 40 years.
Doesn’t it feel never ending sometimes? Their feet never swelled, and their clothes did not wear out (Deut. 8:4). Manna fell and water flowed out of the Rock. Milk and honey were coming. Our Heaven is coming.
Do not forget Him. Do not forget His ways, or His goodness.
When you doubt, look at the stars in the sky and be reminded of His vastness and His creation. Look at a child, and be reminded of His tenderness and love towards us.
—Eve Tipton
Friend, I encourage you to read the passage from Deuteronomy. As you read, give God praise for how He kept the Israelite people. Give Him praise for how He is still keeping His people, today.
He is so worthy. So, so worthy.
12-13 And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep [His] commandments…
14 Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it.
15-16 Yet the Lord set his heart in love on your fathers and chose their offspring after them, you above all peoples, as you are this day…be no longer stubborn.
17 For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe.
18-19 He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.
20-21 You shall fear the Lord your God. You shall serve him and hold fast to him… He is your praise. He is your God, who has done for you these great and terrifying things that your eyes have seen.
22 Your fathers went down to Egypt seventy persons, and now the Lord your God has made you as numerous as the stars of heaven.
