Hello, friend!

Listen, I know this is ‘old news’ but how was your holiday season? Was it awesome, somewhat challenging, or something else altogether?

One of my oldest and dearest friends lost her father right before Thanksgiving. Over the holidays, I couldn’t help but think of how she would be missing her dad. Kim, I know you’ll read this, and though we rejoice that he is now with the Lord, I know your heart is aching. I’m praying for you, friend. And to others reading who may be in a season of grief or difficulty, keep leaning into Jesus. You are loved.

The new year is here! I hope you were able to ring in 2024 in a way that brought you joy, whether surrounded by hundreds of your ‘closest friends’ at a community-wide event, enjoying a smaller celebration with friends or family, or at home in your pajamas (me).

To existing free subscribers receiving this Fast 5 preview, you only have a few hours to get 50% off the annual “paid” subscription with bonus content. You can upgrade at any time, but I don’t know when you’ll get a better discount. (See the note at the top of your email for the discount link.)

As January winds down, some of you may still be packing away the last of the Christmas decor, restoring post-holiday order to your home, or relaxing in front of the fireplace with a good book.

Thankfully, this week, the weather has warmed up here. You never know what to expect in Oklahoma. During January, we’ve had an array of near-zero to sub-zero days, snow, ice, rain, and earthquakes.

This weekend, it will probably be too warm for the fireplace, but I’m really feeling the need for a pajama day. I believe the wearing of pajamas for an entire day is underrated. Let’s make it more of a thing in 2024, shall we?

And now, onto a few of my favorite things…
