In the middle of some busy days with work and all the things, I’m trying to ready our house for Easter. Our little family—Mark and me, my parents, son and his wife, daughter and her husband, and our four amazing grandsons—will gather here after church on Easter Sunday.
If things turn out as they usually do, two things will happen.
It will be very loud! (Did I mention 4 grandsons?)
We will have way more food than we need.
Lately, we’ve been trying to curtail the food offerings, but then someone will add ‘this,’ and another will add ‘that,’ and the buffet continues to grow beyond our good intentions. What can I say? We love food.
For us, Easter is focused on celebrating Jesus, and the new life found in Him. We will attend a worship service at our respective churches over the weekend. This is the priority for us. Also, it wouldn’t seem like Easter if we missed the opportunity to have a meal together.
Whatever your Easter looks like, I hope you get to celebrate Jesus—and eat good food. Maybe try to keep the buffet to a manageable size. We have been completely unsuccessful with this, so if you have tips, send them our way.
