Seven Scriptures on Peace
These words are my creation minus the mechanics of artificial intelligence (AI). You are welcome here!
With desperation in her voice, she said, “I cannot find any peace. Nothing gives me peace.” This statement came out of the mouth of a woman I have known for many years.
While on a mission venture to this woman's home country, a ministry partner reported this conversation to me. She shared how our friend frantically began to express the turmoil she was going through—it seemed no matter what she did, there was no peace to be found.
Frustration and conviction were ruling her days. She was wrestling with things in her life not reflective of the Christian life she had once lived. Her nights were sleepless, and the pressure was relentless. Tears flowed as she asked for prayer—that she would find some relief.
When I heard this story, the Scriptures began to come to me. Peace is a topic very much on my mind these days. I hear and see it nearly everywhere I look. Peace shows up in devotions, books, songs, sermons, and conversations. (When I wrote this article, my word for the year was—PEACE.)
My ministry partner and I agreed there was a war raging in our mutual friend. We recognized while Satan had set His sights on her, the Holy Spirit was unwilling to release this child of God. A tug-of-war was full on inside her.
The blessed Holy Spirit will not let us go without a fight. I love how Rick Renner describes this. He says, “Never forget that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Lover.”1 The Holy Spirit loves us and is willing to fight to the very end for our affections.
He is our Peace. If you find yourself desperate for peace, remember this. When we accept Christ as Savior, the Holy Spirit comes to live inside us. He loves us. He is with us and for us.
Here are a few Bible verses God has used to speak to my heart. I pray you find encouragement as you meditate on His Word.
7 Scriptures for When You Need Peace
“For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and PEACE.”
“Great PEACE have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.”
“Since we have been justified through faith, we have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have PEACE. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
“Let the PEACE of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to PEACE. And be thankful.”
“ Turn from evil and do good; seek PEACE and pursue it.”
“The Lord bless you, and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance on you, and give you PEACE.”
